Advisory Referendum Outcome
Thank you to those of you who have taken the time to learn the issues about the new Library building. The Advisory Referendum for a new Library did not pass. The vote was 8,453 to 10,579. Without a Yes majority, the City Council will not issue the bonds for a new Library building.
Many are asking “what now?” The Library Board will soon be considering what next steps to take as the needs facing the Library will not go away.
While we are disappointed in the outcome, we are extremely grateful for the outpouring of support for our Library and will continue to do our best to provide the same quality of service to which we have always been committed.
