Stranger Things Escape Box
Tuesday to Friday, July 5-8
This program is just like an escape room, but portable! Just in time for the release of season 4, volume 2 of “Stranger Things,” pick up a box filled with clues and puzzles from 1980s Hawkins. Can you outsmart the Russians to break into the box and find the secret? Play on your own, or as a group. Winners get a prize. Pick up a box at the Adult Services desk.
Hydro Dip Kits
Saturday, July 9
We’re hydro dipping everything! Hang out on the grassy area at the library and practice this fun technique. Use our random pieces, or bring your own (at your own risk). Please wear paint-friendly clothes and shoes, and bring a mask if you’re sensitive to paint smells. Registration required.
Mondays starting July 11(No club Aug. 8 and 15)
Ames Room and Virtual
Can you beat the librarian? Recommend your favorite Roblox games ahead of time in person, or by “Chat” on clpl.org, and play at the library or at home. Bring your own device, or use one of ours (limited number available for in-library use). Registration required.
Teen Read on the Green
Thursdays, July 14 and Aug. 11
Each month, read one of our Young Adult Summer Reading Program recommendations and then meet on the grassy area at the library to talk about it. We’ll have snacks and hacky sack. Registration required.

Drop in anytime to make the craft.
July 17: Junk Bracelets: Create a bracelet made from a random assortment of supplies.
Aug. 14: 30,000 Perler Beads: Create any design you can fit with our selection of Perler beads. We’ll print all the templates.
Battle Arena Sphero Bots
Thursdays, July 28 and Aug. 25
Spend an hour creating a shell that you think will withstand the pressure with recycled materials and the next hour battling your Sphero bot against the others! Who will emerge victorious? Top three will receive a prize. Registration required.
While Supplies Last
Drop by the library to pick up a back-to-school kit full of supplies, snacks and other goodies to start the school year right. Open to students in any Crystal Lake school in grades 6-12. One per person. Registration required.
Saturday, Aug. 6
Bring a T-shirt, or use one of ours, to create a tie-dyed creation just in time for back to school. Please wear paint-friendly clothes and shoes. Registration required.
