CLPL is Fine Free!
We are happy to announce Crystal Lake Public Library is now fine free!
Here are the details:
No overdue fines will be charged for items checked out at the Crystal Lake Public Library
If an item is not returned within two weeks of the due date:
- Patron’s card is blocked
- Patron can’t check out any physical or electronic materials, or use electronic resources (databases)
- Patron is billed for the replacement cost of the item (at 45 days overdue)
Fees for items that are lost or damaged still apply.
Mobile Hotspots:
For mobile hotspots that are more than one day overdue, the service will be turned off (essentially rendering the hotspot useless). A patron’s card will be blocked until the hotspot is returned.
Need a Library card?
If you live within the city limits of Crystal Lake, you can obtain a Library card (or renew an expired card) by email while the Library is closed. Residents should email identification that shows proof of residency to jgibson@clpl.org. Email a photo of one of the following:
• Drivers license/state ID with current address or
• Personal/payroll check that includes current address or
• Mail or utility bill with current postmark
Applicants will receive a CLPL card number to access the Library’s resources. When the Library reopens, we ask applicants to stop by the Library to get a physical card.
